Precision Mold Making

Will the Customer need mold making supplies for mass production parts? we are able to provide plastic injection molds for all type of precision stainless steel parts, and pressure die casting molds for aluminum, magnesium and zinc. We can offer low-cost local production molds and high-quality exported molds for all your project needs.
If you need prototype molds for the short-run production, or mass production molds for millions shots, Topsmold can help you to  handle them for you smoothly

Our Advantages of Mold Making Services
Topsmold is an experienced provider of mold making services with lots to offer below our competitors:
1. Fast DFM reports
Although we check your design feasibility when providing a quote, we can provide a fast and thorough DFM (design for manufacturability) report before production begins. In the DFM report, we’ll identify any errors or issues that might cause a manufacturing problem down the line.

2. Wide range of molds
We offer several different types of molds, which means you can avoid splitting your projects; just send everything to us to ensure your project runs smoothly.

3. Fast Turnaround
Our large facility and machining capabilities allow us to build molds quickly, whatever the application or material, which means you can get your moldings completed faster.

4. Molding Capabilities
Topsmold can ship your molds to you directly, but we can also handle injection molding and other production services to deliver you prototypes and final parts using those molds.

There are main 6 stages of tooling processes:

Stage 1: Manufacturability and Feasibility
When we got customer order to start project and in this initial stage we will hold a meeting (kick off meeting) with our design engineers, tooling engineers, manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, and lab technicians work together to determine product specifications, mold component functionality, mold materials, operational constraints, and any needed product enhancements and improvements. our team especially looks for any potential problems in part geometry or tolerance that might result in poor steel conditions or require special tooling features such as lifters, slides, and threading/unthreading. it will also be evaluated the physical and chemical properties of the selected resin  so that the proper mold steel can be selected and mold cooling be reviewed. Mold flow evaluation is also undertaken to determine the best type of gate and gate locations, in addition to determining proper vent locations.

Stage 2: Start to Design

Preliminary 2D and 3D design models are made to determine mold sides and steel sizes according to part of size ,cavity No ,geometric . once customer are reviewed and approved, the detailed design is finalized.we will discuss with our customer each other to match required and improved mold design.

Stage 3: Final Design Specifications

Once get our customer approved the design and could hold a meeting with the tool maker to review the tool design specifications for mold construction and confirm the programs for processing. Final adjustments and modifications are done in-house, with special attention given to manufacturability and critical dimensional requirements.

Stage 4: Construction of Primary and Secondary Tools

Detailed tool drawings are completed and construction standards are reviewed and verified and Purchase main steel and mold base and components standard .during the manufacturing the tool progress is closely monitored. The completed mold is inspected against a comprehensive checklist.

Stage 5: Bring the Tool In-House for first trial Sample

A molding process is established that is acceptable to the manufacturing department. the processing parameters are recommended and established by our injection engineer. Initial sampling are using scientific molding practices is carried out; cavity pressure transducers in the mold accurately determine the filling profile over time. Sample parts are qualified.

Stage 6: Inspection samples and make any final tool corrections
Sending samples to our customer review, comment and we are also check any needed process adjustments are made as required inside. Tool construction is verified and the process is detailed and documented so it can be used in the future with minimal setup time. Perfect parts are resampled and submitted to the customer. After final approval is obtained from the customer, the production process is launched.

Mold Making FAQ

What is mold making and when do you need it?
Molds are normally created to duplicate plastic and metal parts. After testing the prototypes and the market, it is the most cost-efficient way to launch your products at scale.

Should I choose a locally produced mold or an exported mold?
Generally speaking, making plastic or metal molds (and moldings) is cheaper in China than other countries. But shipping costs should also be considered: you will need to use air freight if you have a tight schedule; sea freight is much cheaper, but will usually take 40 days or more.

How long does a mold last?
A well-made, fully harden steel mold may be used for up to a million shots or injections, depending on the mold shape and injection material. Aluminum molds are less durable, which is good for short-run production with tight schedule.

Can molds be any shape?
Molding designs should avoid sharp corners, inconsistent wall thicknesses, and other features that restrict material flow.

When do I need full automatic mold?
Whatever you decide to use, in the end, what is the best cost-efficient way to get your parts done in the required quality is the key.
